The Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections 2023 are already set for October 30 (Monday). This has been after several postponements since the last barangay elections five years ago in 2018.

Here are the steps you’ll take to locate your precinct number:

Step 1: On your browser, type the website: https://precinctfinder.comelec.gov.ph

Step 2: You will be directed to the precinct finder landing page, displaying the Disclaimer. After reading, Press “Continue.”

Note: You must ensure to type your EXACT voter information specified in your Application Form for Registration, as the website will only show the precise results. Failure to do so will not lead to your election precinct details.

Step 3: On the voter Information, type in your First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name. 

Note: Please ensure the proper suffixes and variations reflect your voter information.

Step 4: Set your birthdate in this format: MM/DD/YYYY. For example, October 31, 2000, will be 10/31/2000. You can also use the calendar to navigate your birthdate.

Step 5: Specify your Place of Registration. Click the dropdown menu and select your registered Province and City/Municipality.

Step 6: Validate the Captcha by clicking the “I’m not a robot” and selecting the proper images.

Step 7: Click “Search.”

Step 8: A confirmation message indicating a Data Privacy Notice will pop up. Click “Proceed.”

Step 9: You will be redirected to your poling information showing your Complete Name, Date of Birth, Province, and City/ Municipality.

The results will also display your Polling Place (the school where you’ll vote) and the Precinct Number (your specific room assignment).

Step 10: The Precinct Finder will also show your Barangay Elections and SK Elections Status, indicating either Active or Deactivated. If you’re a Sangguniang Kabataan Elections voter, the status should show ACTIVE.

Voters from 15-17 years old will vote exclusively for the SK Elections. On the other hand, voters 31 years old and above will vote solely for the Barangay Elections.

However, voters aged between 18 and 30 will be voting for both the Barangay and SK Elections.

IMPORTANT: If your search results return as DEACTIVATED for both elections, you can’t vote for the October 30 Barangay and SK Elections.

Amid the rise in phishing attacks, consumers across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region are opting to use a more user-friendly and stronger method of authentication to secure their accounts, such as passkeys and biometrics.

Fast Identity Online (FIDO) Alliance Executive Director Andrew Shikiar said, on Tuesday, that there is a concern over the persisting high usage of passwords without the complement of a two-way authentication factor. In the Online Authentication Barometer study by the FIDO Alliance, it was identified that biometrics was the most secure and even the preferred means of authentication among the respondents.

The study was conducted by Sapio Research, which covered 10,010 participants from across the globe.

Poised to become a major player in the electric vehicle industry in the region in the future, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is launching a program aimed at fostering the development of the local e-vehicle industry.

Dubbed the Electric Vehicle Incentives Scheme (EVIS), DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita Aldaba announced on Friday, at the 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit in Pasay City, that the program is looking for the creation of at least four million electric vehicles in the next 10 years.

The program is specifically looking for the local production of e-PUVs (public utility vehicles), e-trikes, two-wheelers, and e-bus. With the incentives program, the government is looking to transform the country into a major exporter in Southeast Asia, particularly of two-wheelers and e-PUVs. The DTI said that they are planning to provide discount vouchers of Php20,000/unit for three-wheelers, Php10,000/unit for e-bikes, and Php500,000/unit for e-PUVs.

Explaining how the government will render its support, Aldaba said that it will come in two forms—namely, support on both the “supply side” and the “demand side.”

Highlighting the demand in the commercial EV market, she stated that e-PUV plays a major component in the EVIS program. She compared EVIS to CARS (Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy), which is aimed at the manufacturing of commercial vehicles, and said that it will complement the said program.

One of the most popular Globe prepaid promos, GoSURF50, is now gone.

A couple of users have noticed it. And upon checking on Globe’s official website, it is officially gone. We also tried subscribing via SMS and got a similar confirmation. A crowd-favorite prepaid promo, it was one of Globe’s cheapest data offerings over the years.

As of writing, the cheapest of the GoSURF line costs Php30, which comes with 300MB of data and 50MB for social media apps, valid for 2 days.

The new OPPO Find N3 Flip comes in a similar box as the previous generation, only with a little difference in style and colors. Opening the box automatically elevates the phone itself upward, which is a nice touch to spice up the unboxing experience. The OPPO Find N3 Flip is an evolution of its predecessor, the Find N2 Flip. While there’s not much difference in the design aside from the new camera module, there are plenty of upgrades hidden underneath.

Although the N2 Flip didn’t have issues with durability, OPPO still improved the Flexion Hinge on the Find N3 Flip as it’s now certified to last up to 600,000 folds. That’s a 50% increase from the previous generation’s 400,000. OPPO claims that this device can be used for up to 16 years if the user folds the phone 100 times a day. Opening and closing the N3 Flip feels so much better compared to the N2 as well.

Even though it’s a flip, OPPO still got it an IPX4 certification, so it’s protected from accidental water splashes. In addition, it also has 25% more load-bearing strength, thanks to the new aircraft-grade stainless steel core.

OPPO Find N3 Flip folds neatly in half, transforming from a full-sized smartphone into a compact square that’s easily pocketable. When unfolded, it boasts a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display that offers vibrant colors and sharp visuals. The 3.26-inch cover screen, although similar in size to its predecessor, offers plenty of new software tricks that can improve the foldable experience. Other standard inclusions on high-end smartphones like HDR10+ support, 1,600 nits peak brightness, 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, and 1440Hz PWM dimming are also here.

Unlike the N2 Flip, you may now use the vertical cover screen of the OPPO Find N3 Flip like a mini smartphone. With Mini Apps, you can read emails, send text messages, navigate using Google Maps, and even watch Netflix without needing to unfold the Find N3 Flip. There are numerous apps supported at launch with more to come as OPPO works with developers to optimize their apps for the N3 Flip.

Despite being a flip phone, the OPPO Find N3 Flip still packs a punch when it comes to performance. It’s powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9200 chipset, ensuring a smooth, snappy experience whether you’re scrolling through your social feeds or playing graphic-intensive games. The phone also comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, giving you ample space for all your apps, photos, and videos. Performance in day-to-day is great and it can even handle heavy triple A games. Unfortunately, there’s some throttling and heating up when it comes to playing Genshin Impact for an extended period. Let’s hope OPPO addresses it with a software update before it’s released to the public.

Probably the best highlight of the OPPO Find N3 Flip is its triple Hasselblad camera setup. The primary camera uses a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, equivalent to 24mm focal length. It’s accompanied by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX581 sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 f/2.0. The two lenses are equivalent to 14mm and 47mm focal length, respectively.

The upgraded camera system of the Find N3 Flip is a massive upgrade from the N2 Flip. With the addition of Optical Image Stabilization, capturing photos is now more stable and there’s likely to be blurry images. It’s also significantly sharper, with better color reproduction and contrast. Here are some sample photos we took during the global launch in Singapore.

CHERRY just unveiled its new all-in-one tablet, the CHERRY AIO1.

The CHERRY AIO1 has a large 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, which is already an average size for a laptop. There’s a thick lip at the bottom, which could be where the “Loud Clear Speakers” are.

There’s a kickstand on the back, with a cutout in the middle to route the charging cable. It has dual front-facing cameras: a 13-megapixel swivel camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 500 processor, generous 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and runs on the old Android 12 operating system. The battery capacity was not mentioned because it runs using a DC cable.

First, we have the 32-inch Itel G3266 Android TV with an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 resolution, 2x 10W speakers, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, Dolby Audio, HDR, and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. It has an SRP of Php10,999 but is discounted to Php6,598 at the time of writing.

Next stop, we have the 43-inch Itel G4366 with an FHD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, thin bezels, HDR, and the same 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 2x 10W speakers, Dolby Audio, and WiFi and Bluetooth. It has an SRP of Php14,999 but is currently down to Php10,598.

All models ship with the Android 11 operating system, giving you access to a lot of apps, including Netflix, Spotify, and Disney+. The remote it comes with connects to the TV via Bluetooth and has a built-in mic for voice commands.
