As Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is about to hit theaters overseas, a new trailer is unveiled, coinciding with the reveal of the feature film’s Philippine cinematic release date.

To launch on the big screen days ahead of the United States, the new Spider-Man animated movie will be seen in Philippine theaters on May 31, 2023.

In the trailer, we see the adventure of Miles Morales as he and Gwen Stacy travel across multiple universes and meet a group of “Spider-People”—or the multiple variations of Spider-Man from across different universes—called the Spider-Society, and the conflict that follows. Unable to agree on a single method of handling a new threat, Miles finds himself embroiled in a problem with the Spider-People.

The first of two parts as a sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which was released in 2018, Across the Spider-Verse is seeing a delayed rollout from an initially planned April 2022 launch date because of the global health crisis.

A follow-up and second-part sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is scheduled for release several months later on March 29, 2024. In addition, a spinoff revolving around a female protagonist—likely, a female Spider-Man—is also said to be in the works.
