SteelSeries has launched the Alias series of mics in the Philippines. The gaming peripherals company claims this is the first microphone solution that’s specifically built for gamers.
To be unveiled at ESGS 2023, the SteelSeries Alias microphone is a cutting-edge USB microphone tailored for gamers and streamers. It is designed to deliver 24bit/48kHz broadcast-quality audio with a remarkable level of accuracy when capturing a gamer’s voice. One nifty feature is the 5-stage LED that displays audio levels and turns to a prominent red “X” when muted. Additionally, its RGB lighting offers 16.8M colors for further personalization to the gamers’ streaming setup. The included anti-vibration shock mount ensures that any accidental bumps or movements won’t disrupt the clarity of the audio.
Meanwhile, the Alias Pro mic boasts superb production capabilities and high-end features, including advanced audio precision for voice capture. It can deliver 24bit/48kHz audio thanks to its balanced XLR system with pre-amplifier and 48V phantom power. The microphone is complemented by the XLR Stream Mixer command station for intricate audio controls. Additionally, the Alias Pro offers features like Drag ‘n’ Drop Audio Routing, customizable dial and button assignments, and LED indicators for real-time monitoring.

Both the SteelSeries Alias and Alias Pro microphones are powered by Sonar for Streamers, a free studio-grade software suite for streamers and content creators. Features like a 10-band Parametric EQ and professional mixing tools are available to provide users a comprehensive sound studio experience. Sonar also works well with other streaming software, and it relies on the CPU instead of the GPU so streamers do not experience frame rate drops and stutters.
