Apple has announced a cheaper Apple Pencil stylus with a built-in USB-C port.

The new Apple Pencil USB-C will charge via the USB-C port on top, which shows up when you slide the cap. However, it doesn’t support wireless charging and pairing. No USB-C cable comes in the box, just the stylus itself.

Still, it can handle the hover feature of the new iPad Pro powered by the M2 chip. It can also attach magnetically to the side of an iPad if not in use and has low latency and tilt sensitivity.

While it’s newer, it’s cheaper than the 2nd-gen Apple Pencil. Hence, it lacks pressure sensitivity, which would’ve been more useful for artists. Moreover, the new Apple stylus is 155mm long, 8.9mm thick, and weighs 20.5g.
